The Witcher Adventure Game Released Empty The Witcher Adventure Game Mini-review & HD Gameplay Video

Post by Smakx Fri Nov 28, 2014 2:04 pm

I have had some time to play The Witcher Adventure Game on PC. Initially, the game in its current state can seem a little daunting. There is a slight learning curve and the tutorials included are quick non-interactive videos. I looked around for some videos that might explain basic play and didn't find much at the time of this post. Initially I wanted to do voice over commentary for this video as it would have been beneficial to helping people learn the mechanics, but that didn't happen (yet?). What I did do was record a short quick play against a single ai opponent. Watching how the round plays out should be of some use to people trying to get over the minor initial learning curve.

With that out of the way, once the game "clicks" for you, it is absolutely great. It translates the board game perfectly to the digital format without any major rule modifications that I am aware of. The game leverages the digital format well by handling bookkeeping and adding a lot of nice visual and audio flourishes without causing unnecessary game delay. The interface is clean and intelligent. The excellent graphic and sound design create an atmosphere that ties in well with the cool dark fantasy theme and well balanced game mechanics. As with any game involving cards and dice, there is a luck factor that can be mitigated to various degrees by strategies you learn as you gain more experience playing the game. If you like boardgames, The Witcher franchise, or just things that are awesome in general, I highly recommend that you look further into this title.

Here is the Video:
